Jev Ad Block
Ask Jev whether candidate webpage elements are advertisements
How this project uses Jev
- Input
- Candidate text, ad markers, outbound hostnames, placement and overlay geometry
- Jev decides
- Noul questions assess ads and main content; overlays add obstruction and necessary-interface checks. Code validates returned probabilities before deciding what to do
- Code executes
- A Chrome MV3 extension combines network rules and CSS hiding with Jev judgments, plus allowlists, pause controls, decision caching and local-rule fallback after request failures
Evidence and limitations
The GPL-3.0 license, request and fallback code were reviewed without installing the extension or measuring accuracy, latency or cost. Enabling the API sends candidate text and features to TypeSafe; text can still contain personal information and main content can be misclassified. Some CSS hiding requires a refresh to restore. Rule-based blocking and Jev judgments are separate.
This project has not been run independently here. Author-reported results are not independently verified results.
